Welcome back, friends. Morning broke with a nice cloud cover, giving rodders (and journalists) a well-deserved break from the blaring sunshine. With temps still in the upper 90s, those clouds were a welcome sight!
Today, we thought you would like to visit the Pros Pick area to check out a few of the wild and finely crafted hot rods that were gathered for this special contest. A panel of expert judges will select 12 deserving vehicles from several (long) rows of top-quality creations, using criteria established by Rod & Custom magazine, sponsor of the Pros Pick area. Just like years gone by, this section of the Fairgrounds was just loaded with jaw-droppers.
We sincerely hope you enjoy clicking your way through this cornucopia of color and creativity. Please remember, in our next update we will let you know which items won the New Product Awards for 2002. Until then, thank you for visiting streetrodderweb.com.

This killer 1941 Willys belongs to George Saab of Camdenton, Missouri. Though the mods are too numerous to mention, get a load of the unique concave grille, the headlight and front valance treatment, re-worked hood, and those jazzy molded exhaust outlets. Like many other entries, this one spells b-a-d.

Kevin Alstott of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, cruised in with this uniquely detailed 1937 Ford, built by Roger Burman. We seem to remember printing these names in the pages of Street Rodder magazine on several different occasions. What a smoothie!

How can you not like a late-30s Chevy? This eye-catching 1939 coupe belongs to John and Lois Drulik of Middletown, Delaware. Those big tires lend a very muscular look, while the rest of it is just smooth as silk! Tasteful bodywork on the doors, deck lid, and sail panels make this one stand out among its 1939 cousins.

Consummate hot rod guru (and president of Vintage Air), Jack Chisenhall, was one of the many judges who accepted the difficult task of selecting just 12 cars to be honored with a Pros Pick. The sano, black 1939 Ford sedan shown here is but one of the Chisenhall motorized trademarks that sees countless enjoyable miles every year. This guy is an absolutely enthusiastic hot rodder and a distinct pleasure to be around. Thank you, Jack, for all of your contributions to our favorite hobby!
