Welcome back to Louisville, Kentucky, where Mother Nature has chosen to envelope her children in hot, humid conditions. However, we have no threat of thunderstorms like the area experienced on Tuesday evening. The long range NSRA forecast calls for more of the same. We can expect sun, heat, and muggy weather. Perfect Chamber of Commerce conditions! Today, we focused on New Product judging, along with parts fondling, ogling, and general appreciation thereof. Once again, many inventive minds from the world of street rod parts manufacturing have introduced new items to help your project become easier to build, more attractive, more comfortable, more user friendly, or just plain faster.
As always, it took us quite a while to review each item and carefully select our top three from each of the three different pricing categories, as well as determine one product that best exemplifies the 2002 Safety Product of the Year.
Once again, we send our thanks to all the manufacturers who put in the time and effort necessary to design, develop, and tool up to produce these new goodies. Unfortunately, I am unable to show you all the new products that were on display. There just are not enough hours available to photograph, re-size, and format them all for the web, since I am but a staff of one. You can look for them soon, either in advertisements or press releases, in the pages of Street Rodder magazine. However, stay tuned to streetrodderweb.com for another Louisville update when we will show you the winners in each category. That ought to whet your appetite!
After re-entering the crowded aisles in the exhibit hall, I barely had time to visit a few special friends before being locked in my room to build this page for our web-surfing friends to review. Back at the Street Rodder Road Tour booth, Mary Ann and Tina were busy taking entries for folks who signed up to win the Coast-to-Coast 1939 Ford convertible. You might call them a plethora of potential winners! And yes, that is the same car that I referred to as a 1937 in the Wednesday web update. Sorry guys and girls. I was under major stress! At least I admit my mistakes, right?
Anyway, thanks again for visiting streetrodderweb.com for our Thursday Edition, direct from the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. This is where the chosen language focuses on street rods, and it also happens to be where the main emphasis is on fun and friendships.
I just cannot tell you how many reunions I have had since getting into town. Please put this one on your rodding calendar for next year, if you were not able to be here this time. And even if your project might not be finished yet, this is the place to shop till you drop.
We hope you have time to visit us again tomorrow, and by all means, feel free to live vicariously through our adventures!
