On day seven we had about 400 miles to cover, but we still managed to work in a stop at the impressive Auburn-Cord-Dusenberg museum in Auburn, Indiana, and at the WWII Victory Museum just a few miles down the road.
Leaving Auburn Mother Nature threw everything she had at us in terms of wind, rain, thunder, and lighting, but we motored blissfully on. That is, until we pulled into Indy and found all the guests had been ushered into the basement of the motel because of a tornado alert. Ignorance really is bliss. We spent the next few days taking in everything Goodguys Indy had to offer, and although the weather didn't always cooperate, we still had a great time.
Thanks to Vintage Air, Mooneyes, Flowmaster, and all the great participants that spent all or part of the trip with us. Americruise '04 was a rousing success from our vantage point. We just hope next year goes by as fast as last year so we can do it again. (For more on Americruise, look on our Web site at www.streetrodderweb.com.)
