The 58th Annual Grand National Roadster Show, the longest running indoor car show in the world, kicked off today at noon at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. Hailed as "The Grand Daddy of Them All!" this year's show promises to be a spectacular event with an ever increasing number of hot rods, custom cars, and motorcycles. In addition to the traditional showing of the contenders for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster Award, Ford Motor Company unveiled a spectacular display, coined the 75 Most Significant '32 Ford Hot Rods.
The Builder of the Year for 2007 will be presented to Eric Peratt of Pinkee's Rod Shop, who will be on hand with "Loaded", winner of the 2005 Chip Foose Design of Excellence Award.
A total of 7 buildings on the Fairplex grounds will be loaded with hot rods, custom cars, trucks, and motorcycles, with the Suede Palace among them set aside for traditionally-minded car culture enthusiasts. Saturday and Sunday will also feature a popular addition from last year's show in the form of an impromptu outdoor cruise-in.
