You can always count on an innovative design to come from the garage of Rad Rides by Troy and the '36 Ford coupe belonging to Ross and Beth Myers is the latest and dare we say the greatest effort to date from Troy Trepanier.
Ross Myers purchased the car when he was 9 years old, yes you read this correctly he was nine. The car was the first but not the last in a long string of hot rods but it was always the one that was never "put together." While the time must have been just right as one look at First Love and it becomes apparent you will find yourself viewing this car time and time again to "absorb" the numerous subtle (and some not so subtle) changes, all done tastefully.
The three-window coupe sports significant sheetmetal work that includes but not limited to wedged and chopped top and a stretched body. You will note the lack of fasteners as they are all hidden, the engine is the vintage FE big-block, hidden disc brakes, and billet 5 on 5 wheels that have a distinctively old-time appearance yet thoroughly fresh look.
Other components featured on the build include paint by the incomparable Charley Hutton using BASF colors; Griffin Interiors stitched the retro look; FX Engines quietly controlled by Flowmaster exhaust, Griffin Radiator, BFGoodrich rubber on Billet Specialties wheels; Vintage Air a/c and Dynamat insulation keep the interior "kool"; Sherm's Plating bright work; and Eaton springs.
