Alter Boys 5th Annual Jalopy Jamboree

Jalopy Jamboree
There are some guys who just have kustoms running in their blood, like Eli English. Dig his '55 Ford with its slammed stance, louvered hood, tube grille, and rare Wheel Vintique-series 09 wheels. They don't get much kooler than this.

Pete Dayotas worked long and hard with his dad to crank out this reet little '29 Ford roadster pickup that's loaded with subtle fab work, including a shortened bed, kicked chassis, 2-inch channel, and a built small-block topped with a Vintage Speed three-pot intake.

Looking like it rolled out of the little pages, Brian Quinn's coupe had loads of character with its whacked lid, pinstriped flames, and a Flathead packed with loads of original Thickstun goodies.
Jalopy Jamboree
The Devil took out a torch and didn't stop 'til it was scorching hot, yielding John Durfee's hopped-up '29 Ford sedan. This hellacious ride has it all, laced with a radical stance, 13-inch stretched wheelbase, 12-inch rear kick, and a Hilborn-fed Nailhead.

Dave Jackson's coupe was built into a hot rod way back in '51 thanks to a 5 1/2-inch chop, and he's owned it since '52. The coupe has loads of style thanks to an ink-black coating to complement its fine lines, skirts, and flipper caps.

Paul Aldrich's roadster was as tattered as they come and filled with a record-holding early '50s Flathead. Eye candy includes a trunk lid autographed by many of the East Coast's most infamous rodders, while the rest of the car is a rolling tribute to all of the local clubs from the past.

Squirted with plenty of gray primer, Squirm's shoebox Ford had lots of style, compliments of a flawless chop, floating grille, loads of louvers, and classic black steelies topped with fat whites.
Jalopy Jamboree
Brad Barrows' stylish '36 Ford was lookin' hot with its 4-inch hammered roof, '40 Ford dash complemented by a '47 Ford steering wheel, and white and gold rolled interior. A small-block V-8 topped with six deuces brings on the power while fake-out Olds Rocket valve covers make ya look twice.
Jalopy Jamboree
Ty-Rods prez Mike O'Connor and his lovely wife Margaret-Ann brought their immaculate Willys, along with its pristine steel body, nosebleed stance, and lemon twist icing.
Jalopy Jamboree
Sometimes simplicity rules, as evidenced by this mild Chevy custom with its combination of polished suede and orange tribal flames matched up with whitewall-shod steelies.
Jalopy Jamboree
Classic good looks, vibrant red gloss, tasty scallops, and a 392-inch Hemi under the hood equals the whole enchilada for Paul Dayotas' neat '40 Ford sedan.
Jalopy Jamboree
Tony Braz's sinister coupe was totally over the top with its massive blown 460-inch Lincoln mill breathing heavy through an 8-71 Hampton huffer kicking out 938 horses to the pavement.
Jalopy Jamboree
Putting more miles down on a classic East Coast hot rod than anyone we know, Larry Hook had the Norm Wallace roadster out scopin' the scene on one of the most perfect days in recent memory.
Jalopy Jamboree
The Alter Boys handed Russ Daly the coolest trophy of the day for Best Hot Rod with his stoke '29 Ford roadster laden with custom features and filled with a blown Flathead topped by a pair of side-draft Webers. From left to right: Jared Brouillette, Jim Gove, Russ Daly, Pete Flaven, and Tony Dowers.
