Jerry Kugel was honored several ways at the show this year. Two of his cars (one of which he still owns) were part of the 75 Most Significant '32 Ford Hot Rods display, and this car-a creation from Marcel DeLey and his sons, Marc and Luc-was an AMBR contender. Jerry separated himself from the other AMBR hopefuls by driving his rear-engine roadster to the show, displaying it, and then driving it home!

The design concept behind Dennis DeKamp's F-32 was to combine aspects of a '32 Ford with the look of a Ferrari. An AMBR contender built at Barry White's Street Rod Shop, the roadster utilized an aluminum 427 V-8, one-off wheels, and a handformed aluminum body from Marcel DeLey and sons.

Hot Rods & Custom Stuff in Escondido, CA, designed and built this '32 roadster using a Dearborn Deuce body for Mike Richards in Renton, WA. Stuffed with a '57 T-bird 340 Y-block engine, the car features a chassis that was stretched, pinched, and reshaped to give it that swoopy look.

Kirk Hammett's '36 three-window was a study in style and subtlety. That's because it was built by Cole Foster in Salinas, CA, painted by Jesse Cruz, and stitched up by Jimmy Z, all of whom know how to bring the best out of a car.

Everyone liked Troy Ladd's '32 roadster, especially after they looked at all of the special components that were handformed just for this car. But Troy fell out of contention for the AMBR trophy because he couldn't start the car for the judges-a tough break for a builder with obvious talent.

We can't remember which booth George Poteet's new '34 coupe was in ... if we'd only had some way to visualize what the name of the company was. Anywho, George's fine collection of street rods is ever-growing, with this one being fabricated at the Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop in upstate New York.

The Line Doctor, Herb Martinez (shown), and Jeff Styles combined their efforts to lay down what seemed like nine miles of pinstripe on the new STREET RODDER Road Tour car-among the first '32 coupes from Brookville Roadster and expertly assembled by Dominator Street Rods. Look for this Jerry Dixey-piloted ride near you this summer!

More than a dozen pinstripers were on hand to add their lines to anything that wasn't bolted down (check out the vise grips pictured). Many of the items were then auctioned off with the proceeds going to the House of Ruth charity.
