July 12, 2007 - Strongsville, Ohio - PPG Automotive Refinish will offer a free seminar to custom painters at the Goodguys PPG National Show, Saturday, July 14 at 10 a.m. in the Ohio Building at the Ohio Expo Center. PPG custom painting instructors Paul Stoll, Jamie Redd, and Jeff Matauch will conduct an informal session designed to inform do-it-yourselfers about the painting process and the wide range of products available through the PPG Vibrance Collection· of custom finishes. Special emphasis will be placed on PPG's exclusive Hot Wheels Spectraflame paint line, a co-branded line featuring the colors found on popular Hot Wheels line of die-cast toy vehicles from Mattel, Inc.

PPG offers an exciting set of custom painting courses designed to enhance a painters skills and set them on the road towards creating their own custom paint schemes and designs. A technician must be either PPG Certified or complete PPGs Vibrance Collection product course in order to advance to the custom courses.

PPGs Vibrance Collection products course teaches technicians the basic rules of custom painting and how to select the right products for a job from primers to clears. The course covers instruction on the Vibrance Collection color palette and how to use special effects pigments, candy dyes and tints to create custom colors. Instruction also includes tips on how to use a mid-coat clear to successfully layer coats of Vibrance Collection colors for exciting effects.

Technicians can then take advantage of an exciting set of courses designed to elevate painting skills to the next level of creativity. Custom Graphics, Flames Design, Airbrush Techniques, Advanced Airbrush Techniques (including Real Fire or American Flag and Eagle classes) and Vibrance Collection Candy Apple Finishes are courses that deliver practical instructions on these very popular painting techniques.

These professional classes are limited to 14 participants, and are held at state-of-the-art PPG Business Development Centers, which have all the equipment necessary to conduct hands-on training. Classes include instruction, training materials, show panels, lunch and a Certificate of Accomplishment.
