The Western Regional Ford Club Council (with the help of FoMoCo) held and hosted the 25th annual Fabulous Fords Forever show again this year at the expansive parking and picnic area across the street from Knott's Berry Farm theme park in Buena Park, California. As always, this amazing event welcomed anything and everything Ford, Mercury or Lincoln, including passenger cars, sports cars, trucks, SUVs, and even foreign or Ford powered models in stock, original, restored, and modified forms. The event had lots of factory displays and hands-on demonstrations, in addition to dozens of national enthusiasts clubs where Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln owners could meet, greet, and join up. There were clubs representing early Ford V-8s, Model As, Model Ts, Mercs, T-Birds, Mustangs, Lincolns, Ford Galaxies and Fairlanes, and everything else. Each year, the event commemorates the anniversary milestone of a specific make or model. This year, Lincolns and Thunderbirds were recognized with a few pristine restored examples plucked from various model years to share with the many spectators in attendance.
Though Mustangs take up about a third of the parking area, there is an ample showing of pre-'64 Ford & Merc iron in the form of T's, A's, early Ford/Merc V-8's from '32-'53, and many Y-block and FE V-8 powered Fords & Merc's from '54-'64, not to mention everything else-from the latest hi-tech Ford products to vintage and contemporary muscle cars, niche vehicles, and other wonderfully creative (some just creative) FoMoCo products. Put it all together and its a great event to walk, gawk, and gab with Blue Oval enthusiasts (and there's a terrific theme park just across the boulevard).
To participate in next year's Fabulous Fords Forever show, you must submit an entry form in advance. The event web site www.fabulousfordsforever.org has details about the 2011 show date, location, and instructions on entering your Ford vehicle. For spectators, the show is free, so it won't cost you a dime to see one of the best all Ford events around!
