The 39th Annual Pensacola Rod-Tique Rod Run was held at the beautiful beaches of Pensacola, Florida April 15-17, 2011. The weekend was filled with great streetrodders, a free Friday night barbeque with all the trimmings, games, great music, goody bags, and a continuous supply of door prizes for all to enjoy.
Pensacola Beach is a great destination to spend a weekend looking at great cars and enjoying the beautiful white sand and emerald green waters of the gulf coast. Cars from all over the south attended the pre-1948 Rod Run. The grand prize was a 350 automatic transmission rebuilt by Hirst Transmissions of Pensacola along with $250 given away on our money tree. A 50/50 drawing was to raise funds for the Manna Food Bank and the Pensacola Humane Society. The show and shine kicked off early Saturday morning and cars were judged by all the registered Rod Run participants.
Our great sponsors included Hirst Transmission, O'Reilly Auto Parts, ARC Music & Sound, Bruce Camacho Bail Bondsman, T-Shirt Tommy and J's Pastry Shop. We would also like to thank the Travelodge for giving us the best rates on the beach at $69.95 per night! The nightly rate included a continental breakfast each morning. They will continue to give us that same great rate in 2012. The Award's Ceremony was held on Sunday morning and each Top Ten 10 recipient received a beautiful plaque with stenciled art by T-Shirt Tommy. We would like to thank all who contributed to our Rod Run and for the great streetrodders who attended. We would like to invite everyone to join us in 2012 when we celebrate our 40th Rod Run.
