Goodguys Charlotte

There are five classes of autocross racing, and in the Street Rod division Bob Cross, in his Deuce coupe, was only 5 seconds behind the eventual winner: Donny Freise. Freise’s fastest was a 39.739-second run, followed closely (by less than 1 second!) by his wife, Angela, with a 40.724 in the very same black Deuce roadster, though she may have been slowed down in at least one pass with a passenger (Brandon Flannery from Goodguys was literally hanging onto his hat). For comparison, the slowest time in the Street Rod class was a 64.816-second run put in with a ’38 Chevy, while the fastest time of the meet was recorded with a ’66 Chevelle in the Street Machine class (39.221).
