Every rodder would like to win the NSRA Giveaway Car. But, Mike Smith (left) of New Carlisle, OH, did! On hand was Chuck Lombardo of California Street Rods, the company that built the car, and Jerry Kennedy of the NSRA. (Photo courtesy of StreetScene).

Steve Vaughn of Elgin, IL, was on hand with his chopped and channeled '32 Ford pickup. Gotta love those wide whites, steelies, flattie, checkerboard firewall, and bed pipes.
0212SR Nats03zoom
Everyone likes a Willys--how about Dawn Edgell's (Painsville, OH) flamed '37 sedan?
0212SR Nats05zoom
0212SR Nats06zoom
Eric Koceja, his brother, and family all pitched in for the imminent engine swap. The engine let go outside of Chicago on the way to the Nats. No problem--just purchase a new engine at the Nats and continue on with the fun.

I can't believe we forgot to write down the owner's name of this fine looking '28 Ford sedan sporting a Deuce grille. Equipped with American's, Billet Specialties steering wheel, Ford Racing gauges, Vintage Air A/C, and Lokar shifter it should be a hard charger with the Ford 302HO V8.
0212SR Nats07zoom
In the Pros Pick area we found this nifty looking four-banger-powered '29 Ford roadster pickup owned by Ed Balser of Knoxville, TN.
0212SR Nats10zoom
This black beauty of a Deuce highboy had it all with the DuVall windshield, Motor City flathead, and Halibrands. It is owned by Bob Adams of Lake Orion, MI.
0212SR Nats11zoom
Roger Murphy of Cincinnati, OH, was on hand with his '35 Ford roadster complete with small-block Chevy, painted steelies, and wide whites. The interior is a striking red and white leather.
0212SR Nats12zoom
Eric Ewing of Kansas City, KS, had this great looking flamed '36 Ford sedan outfitted with cutouts, cool steelies shod with wide whites, and louvered hood.
0212SR Nats13zoom
This very bad looking yellow '41 Willys resting on Billet Specialties wheels belongs to Merle and Kristy Goldsberry of Springfield, IL, and is powered by a blown big-block Chevy with dual fours.
0212SR Nats14zoom
This '39 Ford four-door convertible sedan with tan leather interior is owned by Larry and Sara Sneed of Louisville, KY.
0212SR Nats15zoom
Lenny Allen of Whiteland, IN, was on hand with his maroon '37 Ford coupe sporting a cream interior, SO-CAL Speed Shop dash knobs and mirrors, and Classic Instruments gauges.
0212SR Nats16zoom
Ron and Kay French of West Paducah, KY, brought out their fine looking '39 Chevy. They are also members of the River Tin Street Rods.
0212SR Nats17zoom
Ronnie Fredricks of Gonzales, LA, had this "you gotta see it to believe it" '38 Packard limo on hand. The PPG white factory stretch is powered by a Viper V-10 and six-speed, equipped with Coddington wheels, Air Ride suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and a Lincoln rearend.
0212SR Nats18zoom
Another highbrow rod is this wire wheeled '34 Cadillac powered by a Caddy Northstar and owned by John Stewart of Cartersville, GA.
0212SR Nats19zoom
Liz Kitzul of Winnipeg, Manatoba, Canada, and of the Lipstick Tour fame was on hand with her T-bucket that "lunched" a rear axle bearing. Fellow rodder, Skip Readio, of Ayer, MA, who has seen his share of Nats, handled the "heavy" work. They'll be back on the road in less than an hour...
0212SR Nats20zoom
Tom Pekel was on hand with this '33 Ford highboy sedan and its license plate that reads, "Patina." The pinstriping was handled by Joshua Shaw out of Hot Rod Flames in Cincinnati, OH.
0212SR Nats08zoom
This is the third Nats for Dawson Harrell and he's only two! According to Kevin and Marsha (known as Dad and Mom) he attended his first Louisville at 5 weeks. We believe this is the first Nats for his '41 Willys.
0212SR Nats21zoom
If you like woodies, and who doesn't, how about this '47 Chevy owned by Sandy Hood out of Louisville, KY. Talk about patina, even the surfboard is "weathered."
0212SR Nats22zoom
Here's what happens when you "dress-up" a 47 Chevy woody. The Shelton gang finished their surf-bound wagon with 16s and 17s, Classic Instruments gauges, and a Lokar shifter. Oh yes, even the 'board is new to the touch.
0212SR Nats26zoom
Tom and Mary Ratliff of Dayton, OH, brought out their '29 Ford roadster pickup. They are also members of the Hoodlifters Car Club.
0212SR Nats27zoom
John Langston of LaGrange Park, IL, brought his beautiful black '40 Ford complete with flames, louvered hood, four speed, BFG white walls, VDO gauges, and white leather interior.
0212SR Nats28zoom
How's this for a stretched '48 Chevy pickup? Ken Price of Bloomington, IL, brought out his four-door pickup with frenched headlights, American's, Vintage Air, and Classic Instruments.
0212SR Nats29zoom
Billy Scott, Jr. of Louisville brought his '40 Ford pickup with Merc caps, wide whites, and red interior. It was the winner of an UPS Commercial Way award.
0212SR Nats30zoom
It's chopped and channeled and it's a hot rod. The '33 Ford pickup of Joe Eyl of Hamilton, OH.
0212SR Nats31zoom
Duane and Christine Lietzke of Grand Lake, OK, brought out their "big" Deuce--a '32 Lincoln. It's equipped with a 460-inch Lincoln V-8 and a '73 Lincoln tranny and rearend.
0212SR Nats32zoom
Greg and Bev Denk of Kansas had this great example of what one can do with a '39 Buick.
0212SR Nats35zoom
John Halsey of Stuart, VA, and a member of the Old Dominion Car Club was on hand with his very slick looking '39 Ford sedan. How can one go wrong with a black street rod accented with red steelies, chromed rings, and wide whites--you can't.
0212SR Nats36zoom
Ed and Sharon Young of Lancaster, OH, displayed their brilliant orange '37 Chevy coupe.
0212SR Nats37zoom
James and Darleen Bernard of Alma, AK, had their flamed chopped Deuce three-window coupe accompanied by a matching trailer visible for all to admire.
0212SR Nats24zoom
One of the Best New Products at the Nats was this Shorty Column Mount from ididit.
0212SR Nats25zoom
Wise Guys Seating and Accessories won the coveted NSRA Safety Award for their Bucket Seat with Seat Belts. Great rod product.
0212SR Nats34zoom
The Michigan Hot Rod Association and its Rod Repair Shop have helped rodders in need for 31 years and there is no end in sight--thank goodness.
0212SR Nats33zoom
Mister Entertainment, at least Nats style, is rodding's own DJ Wings Callahan. His mobile radio station has it all! And we mean all.
0212SR Nats38zoom
Rich and Juleen Baker of Longmont, CO, are members of the Midlife Crisis Car Club (is there any other?) and came to the Nats with their striking '41 Willys bad boy.
