Deuce Front Passenger Side View0
The black highboy Deuce cabriolet of Barry and Ginny Lobeck is built at their shop--Lobeck's V-8 Shop in Cleveland, OH, but not for a customer; this is their personal ride. Congrats for being the 2001 SRM Street Rod of the Year. Look for the feature in an upcoming issue.

1934 Ford Front Driver Side View0
Think back to the December '01 issue of SRM and you will remember the spectacular feature on Jimmy Shine's '34 Ford pickup shot by our own Rob Fortier. Shot on location at El Mirage, this effort was a great deal of fun.

SRM's Eric Geisert's photography features the Bobby Alloway TrackStar coupe in the November '01 issue. All black on the outside, the coupe has flames under the hood as well as the big-block Chevy, and a quick-change is riding outback.

Jim Lambert had a very ominous-looking street rod with his '37 Ford pickup powered by a Chevy LS1, riding on the always-present American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels.

1933 Ford Front Driver Side View0
Representing the primer look is the '33 Ford roadster of Bill Hulbert with a sepia-hued suede. You gotta love the 15- and 17-inch wires carrying the big 'n' little theme. There's also a quick-change hiding under all that hot rod.

It's a phantom by way of its roof being removed. The '30 Ford sedan sans roof is now a Model A phantom tub belonging to Wayne Leach of Penn Yen, New York. It has lots of correct appointments such as the chromed wires, Coker wide whites, I-beam axle, split wishbones, and '40 Ford dash with Auto Meter gauges.

We told you green was in and the most brilliant color of all--see! Don Bunch brought his most brilliant green and cream leather ride to Columbus and bedazzled the crowd with his '40 Ford standard coupe.

1936 Plymouth Front Driver Side View0
Easily one of the most outstanding rods to receive a Top Ten in 2001 was the '36 Plymouth of Thomas Flurry of NY. The House of Kolor Candy Apple Red is a stunning color, which really helped set off this highly modified Mopar. Other appointments include the Billet Specialties wheels, Dakota Digital instruments, and not-to-be-forgotten 3-inch top chop.

1941 Willys Front Passenger Side View0
As long as there's a Willys, there will be a 2,000hp, blown and nitrous-fed Keith Black Hemi in street rodding. Hey, an entire generation has grown up thinking the Willys came with a blown Hemi or at the very least a big-block Chevy. Say thanks to Gary and Rena Smith and their '41 from Sidney, Ohio.

There were four Coast to Coast cars that were selected for Top Ten awards throughout the year, and with green being one of the year's popular colors here's the '39 Ford roadster of Jeff and Judy Osborn as class representative.

1948 Crosley Front Driver Side View0
We made a big enough deal about it--so here's the '48 Crosley that was awarded a Top Ten at Pleasanton. To build and then drive something like this, we tend to believe Bill Ross is an alright kind of guy.
