Pete Chapouris can now be seen taking the track roadster to his favorite rodding events. However, gone are the black walls, trim rings, and chromed Ford V-8 caps. In their place are wide whites mounted to '50 Merc wheels and hubcaps.

There's a great deal of speculation about the true meaning of the license plate--"SIROD2." There are several interpretations when viewing the license from the front or through one's rearview mirror. The rearview mirror account seems to make the most sense, as it reads, "2DORIS." Except the car wasn't built for Mom. So just exactly what is the correct interpretation? Well, here goes. Pete's uncle from his mother's side was a horserace fan as well as an owner. Ol' Uncle Garner Graham inherited the family passion for racehorses as it was passed down from Pete's great-grandfather, who raced thoroughbreds and quarter horses. Being family, Uncle Garner thought it would be a wonderful gesture to name one of his racehorses after his sister Doris--Pete's mom. The twist was, he spelled the name backwards and, hence, SIROD. Well, that explains the letters, but what about the number "2"? Simple, the car was the second "racehorse" and hence it was number 2. And now you know the rest of the story.
