The big 'n' little E-T wheel combo coupled with the fenderless body and drilled front axle give the car a serious touch of that '60s-Gasser look that Vince was going for. The fact that most of the original hardware was left intact also brings a certain authenticity to the project. The average racers wouldn't have wasted time concealing hinges, latches, and door handles.
Now this is what we're talking about when we say stacked. This is 528ci of Hilborn-Injected Chrysler Hemi, producing 600-plus horsepower right to the asphalt. It may be hard to see in this shot, but check how neatly the electronics are tucked into the center of the vintage Hilborn manifold. The right look and plenty-o'-power-what more could you ask for?
Moon instruments fill the dash and the cup on the column.
The all-leather interior has a serious, all-business look that blends in nicely with the rest of the car, yet brings a certain touch of luxury to the passenger compartment.
The hand-formed roll pan brings a crisp, light, finished look to the rear face while the wide E-Ts wrapped in fat Goodyear rubber create enough adhesion to keep the big Hemi in check occasionally. The '37 Chevrolet taillights look right at home in the handmade rear roll pan.
We just couldn't resist throwing in a shot of Vince's '34 the first time around. Just think of how cutting edge this car was back in the mid-'80's.
