It's hard to think of any color that wouldn't look good on a '37 Ford. Maybe it's the combination of both car and color in this case, but this has to be one of the cleanest '37 coupes out there. The PPG Mazda Red paint applied by Doug Klann and buffed out by Steve Cook is flawless, as is the '37's stance thanks to Air Ride Technologies' ShockWave system.
How about that custom-built dash by Doug Klann? Super smooth and almost modern looking; again, Doug's eye for custom body mods pays off without looking gaudy or overbearing.
The Corvette LT1 Street & Performance crate engine is as detailed as any other part on this car. With a fully de-burred and color-matched block and polished everything, it's hard to imagine taking her out on the open road with all those bugs and dirt flying around. We're pretty sure Mac Bernd got over all that the first time he stood on the pedal and had his neck snap back in what could only be described as an unadulterated joy we're sure.
Doug Klann of Slim's Body Works not only smoothed and painted this '37, but also performed the subtle body mods found everywhere you look. Despite all this, it's this '37's rear that really shows off Doug's abilities. Besides removing the bumper, the widened rear sheetmetal was extended down 3 inches while the stock '37 Ford taillights were cut-down and molded directly to the body. This effectively makes the car look much heavier and lower without losing any of the '37's natural body shape.
Another cool custom touch by the boys at Slim's Body Works is the flush-mounted door buttons located within the quarter-window sills. You almost don't notice them at all, but when you do, they somehow look just right.
Complementing the highly-detailed Mustang II IFS is this beautifully-polished and painted Currie Enterprises 9-inch Ford rearend. The set of Air Ride Technologies ShockWaves, polished stainless steel Rock Valley fuel tank, and the custom-built polished stainless-steel exhaust by Slim's all fit like a glove thanks to some nifty planning and stellar execution.
