The custom tubular chassis is a honeycomb of 1 5/8-inch main rails fused with 1 1/4 and 1-inch crossmember rails. Its shape permits a low center of gravity. And its unsprung weight is much lower than a conventional frame's. The wheelbase is 110 inches, 4 inches longer than a stock '32's. There's a machined aluminum bulkhead that's been moved rearward an inch, helping to ensure the car has that desirable (and usually unattainable on a roadster) 50/50 weight distribution.
