Finally, Chip Foose gets to keep one of his creations. It will be very interesting to see what Chip builds for himself.

The front axle is an original Deuce that has been dropped 4 inches and utilizes a Model A crossmember with the spring mounted behind the crossmember.

The spindles are '37-41 Ford coupled to Lincoln (Bendix style) rear brakes utilizing rear backing plates. (Note the emergency cable hole in the backing plate.) The steering arm is reshaped and a behind-the-crossmember reversed eye spring is used.

The inlet side of the water pump features a reshaped neck accounting for the elevated K-member and what appears to be accommodation for a serpentine pulley system.

Stock Ford rubber biscuits are used to attach the front motor mounts.

Here you get a good perspective on the raised K-member and what it means to the powertrain.

Again, the 3-inches-raised K-member and the '39 Lincoln trans are visible.

The stock mounting flange for the transmission is used and all aligns, even though it has been elevated.

The closed driveline will be retained utilizing all the stock components.

An early Ford (1939-48) Ford master cylinder is another OEM item pressed into service.

An early Halibrand quick-change is used along with the '36 Ford torque tube and axle housings.
0511Sr Foose 13 Z
The stock rear crossmember is notched to account for the elevated drivetrain, giving ample room for the quick-change to move upward.
0511Sr Foose 14 Z
The rear of the Deuce frame is C'd, but at the same time it has been "spread" via the cut pictured to bring the rear-mounted gas tank up. This also allows for more travel, giving the rearend additional clearance.

The dashboard is a '38 Lincoln Zephyr with the ashtrays cut out, narrowing the entire unit.

A Brookville Roadster body is used and--while a dead ringer for an original--is freshly stamped and not vintage tin.
