Dan Wollman poses with his father Harold's Model A coupe back in 1963. Harold bought the car in 1956 for $25 after closing down his mechanic's shop to build his bar, the building opposite the grain elevators in the background.
Fast-forward many years later and Dan's as smitten as his father was with the Model A. Purchased for $1 from his dad, who insists he got ripped off, Dan has upgraded the stock A-bone with a Roadster Shop chassis, Heidt's suspension, and a ZZ4 engine. Dan says one of the most memorable experiences was when his father Harold drove the car for the first time and, after hitting the gas, spewed forth a number of expletives after experiencing the powerful ZZ4 motor.
Kelly Werkau of Biloxi, Mississippi, built this '34 Chevy coupe using salvage yard parts and hot rod ingenuity. A 350ci Chevy powers the purple coupe, backed by a matching trans, Mustang II IFS, and a Chevy S-10 rearend. That's how the car looked for a number of years before Kelly got around to finishing it.
Gary Pedroli cruises the streets of San Rafael, California, in this clean, Candy Tangerine '27 Ford roadster. Wild induction is due to tall tunnel ram intake with 500-cfm Weber carbs topped with Hilborn-style scoop. Motor is 350ci Chevy from a Corvette backed by matching trans.
Creedmoor, North Carolina, is where you'll find this '40 Olds coupe-more specifically in Buddy Smith's garage. He completely built the Olds using a 350ci Buick engine, Turbo 350 trans, and Chevy 10-bolt rearend. Inside, the interior is decked out with similar salvage yard scores, such as the Chevelle bucket seats and tilt steering column.
