1931 Ford Roadster Driving
Influenced by the Streamline Moderne movement, David designed the '31 roadster's scalloped graphics to pay homage to airplanes and race cars of that era. Led by painter Scott Bonowski, the Hot Rods and Hobbies crew brought the design to paint.

1931 Ford Interior
Fast Ed's Interiors in Torrance, CA, stitched the '31's pigskin-hued Scottish glove leather upholstery. Behind the Glide seat, a totally concealed Sony sound system emits from behind "perfed" leather panels. Over 40 mph, the transversely mounted Flowmaster's music takes over.
1931 Ford Steering Wheel
A hand-done (not CNC), engine-turned, custom aluminum dashboard by Jim Fish at Hot Rods and Hobbies houses vintage-faced Stewart Warner gauges. Note the column-mounted Stewart Warner clock adjacent the Limeworks flat spoke steering wheel.
Chevy Small Block Side View
Taylor/Edelbrock heads feed from an Edelbrock manifold supporting a triplet of Rochester 2GC carbs. Tri-power setup is from Larry Fulton's Automotion of Great Falls, MT. An engine-turned firewall and red 3x2s with polished '60 Vette valve covers set the look. Taylor Engines of Whittier, CA, custom-built David's MSD-ignited '86 350-inch Chevy motor. Sanderson Blockhuggers dump into a custom crossover with dual electric cutouts.
1931 Ford Window Posts
David's subtle treatment of the '31 Ford's abrupt stock windshield design redefines his roadster with a streamlined stance. David pie-cut and destroyed two sets of posts before he achieved the look he was after. Hot Rods and Hobbies did a tremendous job of bodyworking the reshaped cowl as well as the rest of the '31's steel body.
1931 Ford Trunk
Leather-trimmed trunk panels conceal Dynamat insulation and a 12-gallon steel gas tank from Rock Valley. Sony sound system components are held within.

1931 Ford Apart
Squeak Bell's Kiwi Konnection of Bakersfield, CA, started with '32 'rails from American Stamping, pinched them to fit a Model A body, then stepped the rear crossmember to clear the Winters quick-change rearend. Other special modifications include a C-notch to allow rear suspension travel. Check out Doug Holberg of DAH Works in Redondo Beach, CA's super clean job of tucking the exhaust system along the frame. Reminiscent of Indy cars until 1950, a Dayton #10 Sprint knock-off wire wheel is used on all four corners. David uses these tires for show and replaces them with ... what kind of tires for street use we can't tell you because they buffed the lettering off.
