Celebrating A Special TimeWhile every issue of The Rodder's Journal is considered by many to be special, issue #32 just might be the most special! The Rodder's Journal has used their 32nd issue to celebrate the upcoming 75th anniversary of the 1932 Ford. Issue #32 is the largest Rodder's Journal ever. There are over 35 cars featured, and all told there are over 270 pages in the magazine. That's more than double the content of any past edition of The Rodder's Journal.
Steve Coonan, the heartbeat of The Rodder's Journal, and his staff traveled far and wide to photograph Deuces in incredible locations. From historic '32s shot on Daytona Beach and at the Alamo to new rods photographed at places like the Golden Gate Bridge and El Mirage dry lake, from rural Maryland, Ohio, New York, and North Carolina to the Salt Flats of Bonneville, Coonan's band of merry photographers captured the finest group of Deuces ever assembled in one magazine.
These Deuces include Tom McMullen's restored '32, possibly the most famous street roadster of all time. They include the Berardini Bros. 404 Jr. drag roadster and other notable cars like the Pete Henderson roadster, the Lou Bingham five-window, two new roadsters from the shop of Steve Moal, a five-window and a roadster from the SO-CAL Speed Shop, and a trio of roadsters from Lobeck's V8 Shop. Over 20 other 1932 Fords are featured in the issue.
Buick fan and Nailhead expert Russ Martin's collection-a '22 Buick and a '55 F-100-is also a fascinating counterpoint to their collection of Deuces. RJ also presents previously unseen early '60s drag race photography from the collection of Ed Stein; an in-depth look at the history of Stromberg carburetors and the new reproduction 97s; a tribute to Ak Miller; and Peter Vincent contributed his always-excellent photography and a diary of his journey from New York to Bonneville with the Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop.
