Merle Balke from Kentwood, MS, and his '48 Chevy Fleetmaster are proof that four doors can be cool! The Chevy is updated with a 350/350 combo, Mustang II IFS, and a Chevy Nova rearend with chrome smoothies wrapped in wide white radials at the corners.
Look closely at the front end on Scott Witherell's Elyria, OH-based T-bucket and you'll notice the split-axle IFS Scott engineered to bring his T into the 21st century. Powered by a small-block Chevy, Scott also upgraded the front-end by using a rack-and-pinion steering box and coilover shocks. The overall aesthetic is kept true to T-bucket styling, with upgraded performance and safety.
Chuck Crosoli was searching for a project when he happened upon this relatively complete 1941 Hupmobile Skylark for sale back in 2003. It had been sitting in this shed for nearly 40 years and was home to quite a few critters.
Fast forward a few years and not only has Chuck educated himself a bit on the old Hupmobiles-they were made from old Cord body stamps and only 416 were ever manufactured-but he has upgraded his own Hup to a Fatman Mustang II IFS and a Ford 9-inch rear with power disc brakes, power steering, a 255ci Ford engine and C4 trans, and even a Vintage Air A/C unit!
