We ran a few photos of Larry Lavigne's 1941 Dodge Carryall in the "Early Iron" section back in February, and since then, Larry reports that the Dodge is done after eight years of hard work. Larry debuted the Carryall at the 51st annual GSTA Rod & Custom Spectacular show in St Paul, MN, where it won Best in Show. Congrats, Larry!
Jerry Haley's El Paso, TX-based '33 Chevy Master five-window coupe was honored recently by Goodguys as the Timberland Pro Homebuilt Heaven 2006 National Champion after a tumultuous build process. Jerry found an all-steel body and chassis and tore into the build wholeheartedly, installing a Pete & Jake's X-member, boxing plates, a Currie rearend, and a Total Cost Involved IFS. A fast-burn 385ci Chevy crate motor and 700-R4 trans were dropped between the framerails before the Tangelo-painted body was dropped on top. Jerry then purchased seven hides of leather in which to wrap the interior, completing his homebuilt masterpiece.
