You don't see the Buick 40 Special often. The Special was the least expensive and lowest trimmed Buick model. Relatively speaking many weren't made and overall Buick sales were down in '57 and '58 as (ironically) the country was in the early throws of a recession. Americans were making their first moves away from such big cars and scaling down. Fortunately for us and for Bill, he was able to find this great example of what a full-figured hot rod can look like.
