Not what you expected? An... Not what you expected? An '01 4.6L Ford Modular two-valve Police Interceptor motor with 360 hp was slid into the engine compartment and topped with a custom air cleaner/cover. Not a lot of extras here either: just a Griffin radiator, BBK valve covers, and a stainless steel exhaust. The trans is a stock overdrive. This is a sharp-looking car-top... This is a sharp-looking car-top up or down. The manual top is covered in tan material, installed by McHenry Upholstery (the same folks who did the Ultra Leather interior). Mike Krummen painted the car with PPG red PN 1677, and Tim McComas from Brush Works, Lines, and Lettering did the graphic work (engine cover and glovebox). Though the exterior of the... Though the exterior of the convertible wasn't altered from its factory look, the chassis is another story. Starting with a stock frame, Harry added an independent front suspension from Total Cost Involved Engineering as well as 11-inch disc brakes. Out back a 9-inch Ford rearend (3.00:1) was installed with a Posies spring, and the car rolls on 15-inch Wheel Vintiques wheels wrapped in Coker 205/75R15 and 215/75R15 rubber. The addition of a Tanks stainless steel gas tank rounds out the chassis build. Lots of chrome on a '47 Merc... Lots of chrome on a '47 Merc dash, and Harry added the Classic Instrument gauges after wiring everything up (Kenwood stereo included) with a Ron Francis wiring system. The owner also enjoys the power windows from Nu-Relics and steers the convertible via a Lecarra wheel bolted to an ididit column. The seats are from a Lincoln Mark VIII, and are covered in Ultra Leather, stitched up by McHenry Upholstery. Under the carpet, LizardSkin insulation was applied.
