Steve's car has many of the styling cues that would place it on Bellflower Boulevard in the mid-'60s, which is exactly what he wanted. Steve believes only 50 or so Mickey Thompson power ram manifolds were made for the 409, and he found one. Twin Edelbrock 500-cfm carbs feed the motor, which is equipped with a Competition Cams camshaft, roller rockers, forged rods, and Ross pistons, and topped with Edelbrock aluminum heads. A Power Master 105-amp alternator generates the juice while an MSD-based ignition system supplies the spark. The motor is backed to a TH400 transmission, prepped by Dale Anderson.
