A couple weeks ago we introduced the latest project vehicle from MSD Performance, the Atomic Deuce. The team in El Paso, Texas, is making progress on the 1932 Ford five-window coupe and we're in the finishing stages of pre-paint assembly. The New Age Motorsports body has been mated to the Pete & Jake's chassis, along with the LS3 drivetrain. In fact, most of the plumbing, brakes, drivetrain, and external mechanical were close to being wrapped up. We were able to get a peek at their progress.
After fitting the body and chassis together, the LS3 and 4L65E transmission were lowered in place so everything could be locked down for assembly.
Here you can see the engine mount/bracket assembly as well as the Hooker exhaust manifolds that will direct the spent fumes through a pair of MagnaFlow pipes and mufflers.
Speaking of the exhaust, the MagnaFlows may not get their chance to quiet the exhaust note if the Doug's Headers Exhaust Cutouts are activated!
Fuel will be pumped to the Atomic EFI'd LS3 from a Tanks Inc. tank that is tucked nicely at the rear of the 9-inch.
Behind the Rocket wheels there's a set of disc brakes in the front and rear. A Lokar emergency cable assembly was also employed on the '32.
With most of the external mechanical coming together, attention is going to be focused inside the cabin. The Glide seat is being fit once the ididit column, Lokar pedals, shifter, and goodies are mocked up.
