For the first time in its history the Grand National Roadster Show will be held in Southern California at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. In the heart of SoCal the GNRS with its 50-plus years of history and the home of one of the most prestigious awards in rodding, America's Most Beautiful Roadster, is sure to be a winner.
The GNRS will occupy buildings four, five and six at the Fairplex and be sure to visit the Street Rodder booth in building 6, space #225 and get a chance to see past, current and future magazine projects. Oh yes, you will also see some of the finest rods, customs, trucks, sports cars, and motorcycles to be seen anywhere on the West Coast. Street Rodder will also post daily updates straight from the show floor to keep those of you who can't be there in the "loop."
Here's a teaser. We visited the shop of Barry White's Street Rod Repair Co and caught them in the act of putting on the finishing touches for their entry in the AMBR competition. Barry White is also the shows honored builder and what better way to "show off" then his latest creation the Concept '36 a handmade one-of-a-kind roadster owned by Kent and Lisa Matranga from SoCal. The roadster features a LS1 Chevy for power along with a handmade independent front and rear suspensions. The brilliant red roadster is sprayed in House of Kolors Blue Blood Red sprayed over with Pearl Red, a custom mix if there was ever one.
