Edelbrock also offers the Performer RPM E-Tec with an optional fuel injection system for the ultimate in performance and driveability. The EFI crate engine also features Edelbrock's famous performance manifold, heads, aluminum water pump (optional), and valve covers.
For the pieces Edelbrock doesn't create in-house, Edelbrock relies on the best suppliers to complement their crate engines, which have MSD distributors, ARP fasteners, Milodon oil pumps and Milodon oil pans (on RPM applications only). Edelbrock Performer Engines
Performer Crate Engines feature a Performer camshaft that's matched to the compression ratio, manifold and carburetor for smooth performance from idle to 5,500 rpm. They feature Edelbrock Elite Series aluminum valve covers, and Edelbrock aluminum Performer heads with 70cc combustion chambers. Among the choices available to the buyer are the carburetor (Edelbrock Performer Series 600 cfm square-bore carb with electric or manual choke or an Edelbrock Q-Jet carb) and the manifold (Edelbrock Performer with EGR, Performer EPS or Performer Air-Gap manifold).
Based on a new GM Goodwrench 350 short block, Performer engines with 8.5:1 compression have Edelbrock aluminum Performer heads with 70cc combustion chambers, and can produce 310 horsepower and 375 ft./lbs. of torque on low-octane fuel. The Performer 8.5:1 engines with EGR manifolds include CARB-approved components for use in emissions-equipped vehicles.
Also based on a new GM Goodwrench 350 short block, Performer engines with 9.0:1 compression can produce 320 horsepower and 382 ft./lbs. of torque, performance that's great for street machines and rods. The 9.0:1 engine has Edelbrock aluminum Performer heads with 64cc combustion chambers, plus a Performer Series 600 cfm carb, or two square-bore, manual choke 500 cfm carbs.
Edelbrock Performer RPM Engines (350 c.i.d.)
Edelbrock Performer RPM crate engines are based on the General Motors ZZ short block, and comes with high-quality parts including flat-top pistons, a forged steel crank and four-bolt main block. Complete with Performer RPM aluminum heads, the Performer RPM cam is matched to the compression ratio (9.5:1), manifold and carb for maximum power from 1,500 to 6,500 rpm. Performer RPM crate engines are capable of 410 horsepower and 408 ft./lbs. of torque.
Manifolds available with the Performer RPM crate engine are the Performer RPM manifold or the RPM Air-Gap with the race-proven air-gap design. For the carburetor, Edelbrock's high-performance 850 cfm Q-Jet carb or a Performer series 800 cfm carb with electric choke are available.
Edelbrock Performer RPM E-Tec Engines
Outstanding street performance is available thanks to the high-quality parts in this new Edelbrock Performer RPM E-Tec engine. Based on the GM ZZ short block, the engine assembly features flat-top pistons, a forged steel crank and 4-bolt mains.
The E-Tec 170 heads feature 170cc Vortec-shaped intake and 70cc exhaust ports, which flow 20% more on the exhaust side than cast iron Vortec heads. The 64cc combustion chamber creates 9.5:1 compression with one-piece, swirl-polished stainless steel exhaust valves. The Performer RPM Air-Gap manifold is topped with a Performer Series 800 cfm carb, helping to optimize power from 1,500 to 6,500 rpm.
The Performer RPM E-Tec 9.5:1 engine delivered 435 horsepower and 435 ft.-lbs. of torque on the dyno at Edelbrock.
Edelbrock Fuel-Injected Performer RPM E-Tec Engines How's 440 horsepower and 425 ft.-lbs. of torque sound? You'll get great performance like that with the new Edelbrock Fuel-Injected Performer RPM E-Tec engine. Based on the GM ZZ short block, this engine features flat-top pistons, a forged steel crank and 4-bolt mains like all Edelbrock Performer RPM engines.

The Pro-Flo EFI system gives you total control, using a speed/density system for control over fuel and spark. Manifold assemblies, air valves and electronics are built by Magneti Marelli Powertrain USA. Components are matched and tested as a set, and then serial numbers are added for quality control.
