Purpose-Built
Gear Star has been remanufacturing performance automatic transmissions since 1984, but what separates the company from the rest is the fact that every one of its transmissions are built to the specification of the engine and its intended use. Gear Star is a custom shop and it doesn't just sell transmissions and converters off the shelf. The company's five technicians have a combined 88 years of experience, and each transmission is manufactured from start to finish by one builder who's responsible for that unit from teardown to dyno testing, and his initials and serial number are attached to every unit he builds.
Gear Star's business is 90 percent repeat business and customer referrals, with its standard warranty being 24 months; however, the company stands behind its products up to five years, and will "make it right" in the rare event that you experience a problem with your transmission or converter.
Gear Star caters to the street rod and hot rod hobby; in fact, having driven the '06 STREET RODDER Road Tour car for close to 15,000 miles, we know the kind of transmission and converter packages the company puts together.
