The Ultimate Partnership
PPG, one of the world's leaders in both OEM and custom automotive finishes (especially the Vibrance, Spectraflame, and Hot Wheels collections) and pre-paint products, has again chosen renowned artist Darrell Mayab to create the company's 2007 PPG calendar. Darrell has been the artistic talent behind the extremely popular and truly collectable PPG posters with which we've all scrambled to adorn our shop walls for the past 10 years, as well as being the artist responsible for the cool PPG coloring books those future little rodders of ours love to decorate. Darrell has also been commissioned to create a new T-shirt design exclusively for PPG in '07. This coming event season, Darrell will be making personal appearances in the PPG booths at the 10th Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, July 13-15, and at the 38th annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, August 2-5. For more information, or to get a peek at Darrell's awesome hot rod artwork, visit www.automotivegraffiti.com, or e-mail him at info@automotivegraffiti.com.
Show What You Know And Win A Classic Car
Think you know classic cars? Here's your chance to prove it.
Timber Wolf moist snuff is transforming six classics back to their original glory in the Timber Wolf Speed Shop, and then they're giving them away! But if you want to drive home a winner, you'll have to use your gearhead.
First things first: the cars. Timber Wolf has a '32 Ford coupe, a '69 Super Bee, a '57 Chevy, a '64 Corvette, a '69 Mustang Sportsroof, and a '67 Ford Fairlane.
Now, how it all works. From May 15 to November 1, you'll find a code under the lid of every Timber Wolf can. Enter that code at www.twspeedshop.com, pick a car, and estimate how much you think it will be worth once the transformation is complete. For a better estimate of its value, you can watch Web videos of each car's transformation and read editorials in STREET RODDER, Mopar Muscle, Hot Rod, Corvette Fever, Mustang Monthly, and Car Craft. If you're the first person whose bid is on the money, the car is yours.
Every lid's a bid. The more Timber Wolf lids you collect, the more estimates you get, and the more chances you have to win.
Vintage Cars 'Drive' Gala AuctionFor the first time in the history of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Promise Ball, vintage street rod aficionados will get the chance to win one of two fully restored vehicles being donated to the gala: a 1931 Model A Ford Victoria sedan or a 1937 five-window Ford coupe.
Thanks to the generosity of longtime JDRF supporters and philanthropists Louis and Vivian Vance, these pristine cars are being featured in the Promise Ball's live auction on Saturday, May 12, at the Westin La Cantera in San Antonio.
The highest bidder will be the proud owner of one of these American dream cars. The 1931 Model A Ford Victoria is Viper red with an all-steel body and luxurious Berkshire buff leather. Its motor is a 1976 Camaro 350 with a 350 turbo transmission, plus many extras too numerous to mention. The 1937 five-window Ford coupe is hot red with an all-steel body and sand-colored Ultraleather. It boasts power seats, power windows, power trunk lid, and remote doors among its amenities. The motor is a 1983 Chevy 350 stroked to 383 with a Turbo 350.
Full-color photos and a complete list of all restorations made to these vintage street rod beauties are available. For further information or to place a bid, contact the JDRF South Central Chapter office at 210-822-5336.
