Royal Oak, Mich., Aug. 2, 2007 - The Promotion Company and Eaton Corporation unveiled plans today for the Eaton Performance Park, a spectacular addition to the annual Woodward Dream Cruise. The Eaton Performance Park will be located in the city of Royal Oak's Memorial Park at the corner of 13 Mile Road and Woodward Ave. and will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17 and Saturday, Aug. 18.
The Eaton Performance Park will feature nearly 20 highly interactive exhibits by official sponsors Eaton, Allstate, Cherry Bomb and Year One and exhibitors Barry Grant, Comp Cams, Currie Enterprises, Dynomax, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, K&N Filters, Motorsports Authentics, Precision Gear, Quaker State, SAE International Foundation and Tremec.
Admission is free with an event credential available from Eaton Performance Park ambassadors who will be working their way up and down Woodward Ave. starting Thursday, Aug. 6 through the event's conclusion Saturday night.
Highlights of the Performance Park include:
Dynomax(r) - The performance exhaust specialist is bringing its Power to the Wheels national competition of horsepower to the Park. Pre-registered Cruisers will have the chance to hook their ride up to a chassis dynamometer inside the park and compete for cash prizes, a feature on www.dynomax.com and the opportunity to compete in the ultimate horsepower shoot-out at SEMA in Las Vegas this fall. The Brickyard - Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the home of the greatest spectacle in racing, will be onsite with the ultimate fan experience and Indy Car and NASCAR ride simulators to give the thrill of racing around the "world's most famous race course."
Allstate - The nation's largest publicly held personal lines insurer will demonstrate that "You're In Good Hands With Allstate(r)" is more than a slogan with an interactive exhibit that provides useful tips to owners of custom and collectible cars about what they can do to safeguard their investment from being targeted by thieves.
Eaton - The manufacturer will have a sampling of its automotive aftermarket products including its Eaton, Aeroquip and Detroit Locker product lines and Eaton-sponsored professional racecar drivers Mike Janis and Mike Hampton will be onsite signing autographs. The new Eaton Twin Vortices Series (TVS) supercharger will also make its public debut.
94.7 WCSX - A special appearance is scheduled for Detroit's classic rock station's Stone Souper 1968 Dodge Charger that will be auctioned off to raise money for Focus Hope. The Stone Souper Charger is being built entirely with donations of parts, expertise and time from listeners and sponsors and will make one of its first public appearances.
The Eaton Performance Park on Woodward represents the first attempt to exhibit aftermarket retailers in a central location at the famous event.

The Woodward Dream Cruise(r), the world's largest one-day automotive event, draws over one million participants and spectators to nine host communities on a 16-mile stretch of Woodward Ave., just north of Detroit.
