Win A Classic Car
Think you know classic cars?
Here's your chance to prove it.
Timber Wolf Moist Snuff is transforming six classics back to their original glory in the Timber Wolf Speed Shop, and then they're giving them away! But if you want to drive home a winner, you'll have to use your gearhead.
Now, how it all works. From May 15 to November 1, you'll find a code under the lid of every Timber Wolf can. Enter that code at www.twspeedshop.com, pick a car, and estimate how much you think it will be worth once the transformation is complete. For a better estimate of its value, you can watch Web videos of each car's transformation and read editorials in STREET RODDER, Mopar Muscle, Hot Rod, Corvette Fever, Mustang Monthly, and Car Craft. If you're the first person whose bid is on the money, the car is yours.

The first event will be a drag race, the second will be open track, and the third an autocross. The rules are simple-competitors must drive their vehicles from event to event, and run on the same DOT tires for all three events. There are no restrictions on vehicle modifications. Five classes will be used for the race:

* Modern American Muscle (1982-current)

Kustomizer Bill Hines Turns 85Jerry Weesner reports that a surprise birthday party was recently held for Bill Hines (shown blowing out his candles), who turned 85 years old. Lured to the "event" produced by Bill's wife, Lova, and their son, Mike, Bill showed up cigar-in-mouth, as has been his tradition for at least seven of his eight and a half decades. Nearly 300 guests also attended-including customizer Teddy Z, painter Herschel "Junior" Conway, Gary Minor, historian Greg Sharp, and various L.A. Roadster members-and paid respect to Bill, whose leadslinging abilities and use of hydraulics for suspension predates nearly anyone else by decades. The staff of STREET RODDER, longtime fans of Bill, would also like to add their own "Happy 85th!" to honor this true gentleman of kustomizing.
Egg On Our Face
STREET RODDER (and one photographer in particular) would like to apologize to Mark Morton and HOP UP magazine for altering an image of their booth display, shown in the coverage of the Grand National Roadster Show in the June 2007 issue of STREET RODDER. We added extra signs to the background to over-emphasize HOP UP's own promotion and did so tongue-in-cheek (as explained in the caption), but the image should in no way be viewed as the way HOP UP or Mark Morton does business, which has always been in a very classy way (and is evident on the www.hopupmag.com Web site).
