After spending the last few months setting up his booth and vending at shows across the country, Jim Aust (former Rod & Custom Senior Editor) has finally opened up the newest SO-CAL Speed Shop store in Southern California. To get things kicked off right from the start he'll be celebrating with a "Hot Rod Halloween" Grand Opening Party on November 3rd. The party starts at 3:00 pm and will feature a hot rod parking area, special guests including Pete Chapouris, Alex Xydias, and Jimmy Shine, a drive-in movie (shown against the building's wall) and most importantly - food.
The new shop is over 5,000 sq. ft. and is conveniently located at 517 Figueroa Street in Wilmington, right off the 110 Harbor Freeway. Jim is excited to finally have a building where he can display a wide variety of inventory of new parts from various manufactures most of which share his love of traditional hot rods. As an extension to his new traditional parts Jim has assembled a "Treasure Hunt" consignment section within the shop selling vintage treasures ranging from shift knobs to sheetmetal.
