Although there isn't a swap meet at the Goodguys Pacific Northwest Nationals, that doesn't mean there weren't bargains to be had. Here are a few cars for sale that we spotted over the weekend of July 25-27 that would make for bitchin' street rods.
This '56 Ford sedan delivery was on a hauler outside the show and was priced at $5,000. The second-owner primered Ford had a 2-1/2-inch chop, smooth dash, bumpers, and a chrome grille. Slap in a 302ci crate motor and trans and it's ready to hit the highway. | If it's a finished car you're looking for, how about a '40 Ford sedan with a hopped-up Flathead with dual Holley 94s, Offy heads, and an Isky cam? Immaculate from top to bottom, the suspension had been upgraded with a Mustang II IFS frontend with disc brakes and rack-and-pinion steering and sat on Coker whitewall tires, priced at $37,500. You couldn't build the car for that! | If a Ford is just too common for your blood, how about a genuine '50s custom '47 Plymouth sedan? Under the hood sits a Chevy Vortec engine backed by a Turbo 350, and it features power disc brakes, windows, steering, and A/C. |
This '56 Chevy two-door post had a 350ci Chevy mill backed by a Muncie four-speed with power disc brakes, drop spindles, and a new interior kit. A perfect '60s-style hot rod priced at a reasonable $13,000. | | |
