Originally built by Charlie Lopez of Midway City, California, the "Nostalgia Sleeper" as it was known, has recently been found by Los Angeles-native Conrad Garcia. Featured on the November '74 cover of Street Rodder Magazine in a slightly different guise (sans sun roof and gull wing doors among other things), Conrad found the Merc online where its owner in Kentucky had advertised it up for sale. Inspired by a car show poster that he had on his wall as a youth that featured the Merc in all its show car splendor, Conrad plans on restoring the kustom to its original glory. Stay tuned...
