Street Rodder And Ford Racing
Present the Best Ford in a Ford contest for the '09 event season
Without question, early Ford cars and trucks are the gold standard when it comes to street rods. Heck, the mere mention of the term conjures up an immediate image of a '32 Ford roadster for nearly everyone. It's with this in mind that we at STREET RODDER, along with our friends at Ford Racing, have joined together to announce our Best Ford in a Ford competition for the 2009 street rod event season.
During the course of seven specific events (listed below), members of the staffs of both SR and Ford Racing will be keeping our eyes peeled for prime examples of Ford-powered Ford street rods. Up to three contenders will be chosen from the registered attendees at each of these seven events, and at the season's close the winners will be pooled and a grand champion will be decided upon by a combination of SR and Ford Racing staff members. The overall winner will be the recipient of a one-of-a-kind Best Ford in a Ford commemorative jacket--and a brand spankin' new Ford crate engine! To be eligible you must be running for power a late-model Ford crate motor in either modular, small- or big-block configuration (Flatheads, Y-blocks, FE, or early Cammers aren't eligible.)
The first lucky Best Ford in a Ford winners were recently chosen at the 2009 Grand National Roadster show. They were the Steve Moal-built 351 Windsor-powered '32 Ford coupe of George Poteet, the Ford-powered '34 coupe of Larry Karp built by Roy Brizio Street Rods, and Jerry Kugel's 514ci Ford-powered Muroc roadster. These beautiful Ford-powered rods are just the first of many Ford powered street rods to be chosen this year--and yours may be next! So get ready for another exciting event season, and don't forget to proudly display that Ford powerplant. You may be the next lucky rodder to win a chance for a powerful new Ford crate engine from Ford Racing and STREET RODDER!
