Goodguys Trendsetters for 2009
Phil and Jeremy Gerber
The list includes Chip Foose, Troy Trepanier, Troy Ladd, Alan Johnson, Eric Peratt, Tim Strange, Dave Lane, Zane Cullen, Jesse Greening, and now Phil and Jeremy Gerber.
The brothers, who-along with their father Neal Gerber-took over ownership of the Roadster Shop in 2004, were presented with Goodguys Trendsetter Award for 2009. The award is presented every year to a talented young rod and custom car builder-or in this case-builders.
Three years after taking over the well-known street rod shop, the Gerbers moved the business from Elgin, Illinois, to a 30,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Mundelein, about 40 miles northwest of Chicago. In addition to the expanded building, the variety of projects has expanded too, and today the Roadster Shop is as involved in the performance muscle car and street machine scene as it is in the street rod world.
