2010 Amsoil/Street Rodder Road Tour
We are now one month closer to the middle-of-May kickoff of the '10 AMSOIL/STREET RODDER Road Tour, and one month further along in the buildup of the STREET RODDER Road Tour car. Before you know it, we'll be rolling out of Charlotte, North Carolina, for an eight-leg, five-month, 20,000-mile adventure through more states than we can count, and with more friends than we can predict. Along the way, the Road Tour will be rolling through America's most impressive scenery and stopping at some of street rodding's most impressive shops. All individual tours will end up at some of the best events around, including Speed Week in Bonneville and the NSRA Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. The rest are listed below as well as on the STREET RODDER website.
You can get involved in the AMSOIL/STREET RODDER Road Tour by simply calling our Road Tour Hotline at (800) 664-1362, or going online to www.streetrodderweb.com
2010 Amsoil/Street Rodder Road Tour Roadster Pickup
Great progress is being made on the '10 Road Tour car. We're going to be covering 20,000 miles in our '27 roadster pickup before the year is over, and we get excited hearing about the buildup. We just got off the phone with Zane Cullen from Cotati Speed Shop, where this cool little rod is being built.
His crew had just finished plumbing the Aeromotive fuel system and the lines for the Wilwood brakes. The Painless fuse panel is in place and so is the Vintage Air unit and the Lokar pedals and cables. A Patriot exhaust system will be added to the Smeding Performance 347 Extreme stroker engine, built from a Ford 302 and rated at more than 400 hp. There's still some tin work to be done and Clay Cook is heading into town to work on the hood and track nose. This is turning into quite a ride.
