In honor of John Force's 15th NHRA Funny Car Championship, the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by Automobile Club of Southern California and Fender have created a rare, one-of-a-kind commemorative guitar which will be auctioned at the Museum's annual Wally Dinner to be held on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m.
"The live auction portion of the annual Wally Dinner is a huge step toward supporting the Museum," commented Museum Director Tony Thacker. "We are anticipating a big attraction with the one-of-a-kind John Force Fender guitar made to celebrate Force's Funny Car reign as well as his extraordinary passion and love for the sport."
Another live auction item up for grabs is a mounted and autographed Weiand Buick front-timing cover/wall clock from "TV Tommy" Ivo's four-engine Showboat dragster. Ivo will also be a part of the panel discussion included in the Wally Dinner. Ivo will join past and present racers Tom McEwen, Joe Amato, Gary Beck, Tom McEwen, Gary Scelzi, and Tony Schumacher. NHRA Announcer Bob Frey will be the discussion moderator.
Other NHRA memorabilia and one-of-a-kind items will be auctioned live throughout the evening.
The Wally Dinner will be held in the Hall of Champions at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Gate 1, Pomona, Ca. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and panel discussion follows at 8 p.m. Tickets are $98 per person and tables of nine can be purchased for $800 by calling the Museum at 909-622-8562 or email to themuseum@nhra.com.
