Brothers George and Paul Huenergardt...

Brothers George and Paul Huenergardt used to drive this ’37 Ford coupe to high school back in the mid-’50s. They started to make a rod out of it in 1958 when it was channeled 6 inches and stuffed with a Nailhead motor. They never finished the car and then sold it, but George found it in 1990 and bought it back. Waiting to retire, George eventually started back on the car in 2004 and completed it in 2008. He used 14 sheets of steel in its creation, along with ’97 Mercedes headlights and ’99 Cougar taillights. The motor is a 302 from a ’79 Merc.

Roger and Melinda Mitchell,...

Roger and Melinda Mitchell, from Hutchinson, KS, severely reworked a ’28 Ford sports coupe by replacing the factory soft top with the roof from a ’67 Cougar, the rear section from a ’30 sedan, and quarters from a leatherback ’28 (more easily said than done!). The drivetrain consists of a 302 Ford backed to a C4 trans, and the stock frame was boxed and then kicked 3 inches in the rear. The exterior colors are Strawberry Wine and Champagne and, after a two-year build, Melinda really enjoys driving it.
