The Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) at the University of Utah is pleased to present Cars and Conversation with Jay Leno, a special ticketed event taking place at Kingsbury Hall on Saturday, July 14 at 8 p.m. Tickets are now available for purchase at www.speedumfa.com. Cars and Conversation is presented in conjunction with the UMFA's current exhibition, Speed: The Art of the Performance Automobile, on view through September 16, 2012.
Cars and Conversation will feature Jay Leno, celebrated car aficionado and host of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," as he takes the stage of Kingsbury Hall for a lively discussion with Speed exhibition curator Ken Gross. Beginning at 8 p.m., Leno and Gross will speak about everything auto, ranging from great car discovery stories to Leno's lifelong experience with automobiles and his adventures as a pace car driver. Cars and Conversation will end with an interactive question and answer session with the audience.
Kingsbury Hall is located on the University of Utah campus at 1395 E. Presidents Circle in Salt Lake City (www.kingsburyhall.org). Tickets for Cars and Conversation range from $19.95 to $59.95, fees not included.
Car enthusiasts and Jay Leno fans may add to their experience by purchasing a Hoods Up! bundle, which includes a ticket to a reception with Jay Leno at the UMFA at 6 p.m. on July 14, as well as a ticket to Cars and Conversation later that evening. Hoods Up! attendees will enjoy hors d'oeuvres and join Leno and other guests informally in the galleries. Hoods Up! will reveal the "muscle" of key cars featured in the Speed exhibition as their hoods are raised to expose their powerful engines. This is the only time the UMFA will raise the hoods of cars during the run of the Speed exhibition.
