Here are before, during, and after shots of Jim Howard's New England-based chopped '40 Pontiac. Jim reports that he has waited 45 years and finally has the street rod project he's always dreamed about! The four-door is running a 455ci Poncho mill backed by a TH400 trans and a Posi rearend. Jim jumped headfirst into the project, chopping the car 4 inches in the rear and 5 1/2 inches up front-and this is the first time he's ever attempted such a feat! Nice work, Jim; keep us posted on the buildup!
Nick Morris and his Model A coupe are living proof of the old adage that old guys rule! His two pastimes-hot rodding and surfing-collide when the 55-year-old, self-professed kid at heart, cruises into his local Ocean City, Maryland, surf shop.
Dayton, Nevada, residents Jack and Helen Ezell are the proud owners of this newly completed '39 American Bantam pickup. Equipped with a 327ci Chevy mill mated to a TH350 trans, the shorty pick'em up rides on a Jag rearend and a Mustang II frontend. Jack proudly performed all the body and chassis mods that he said are too many to list, and we believe him!
