The "Fadeaway Ford"
Today, the car sits a bit higher than as seen in Trend's 1959 Annual, due to a stock front axle replacing the original's dropped unit. There is also a difference in the rubber it runs. The restoration rolls on Coker repop Firestones in 6.70 x 15 all around on '50 Merc wheels, whereas the original ran 8.20 rear and 5.50 front rubber on Chrysler wheels (same bolt pattern as Ford). Those hubcaps are aftermarket Olds-style flippers, as opposed to both Olds and Edsel caps it wore in magazine photos of the day...
