The Dragnet Roadster
|
This is a near-identical outtake from the Sept. '57 Rod Builder and Customizer. Jim Stanbaugh posed with Pollard in this photo. Remember the photo in front of Pollard's mom's house? Well, the next-door neighbor (gray house) had a sister a few blocks away. Pollard rented her empty garage for his roadster and buddies. The back wall wears a Lakesters Monterey Park club plaque, a "God Bless the Flathead" sign, and numerous posters advertising shows like the Motor Revue show at the Pan Pacific auditorium in 1954 (the firewall still wears the cloisonne show plaque). Varga-style Pinup girls festoon the walls. View Related Article
