Historic vehicle: a vehicle which is over 25 years old, and which is owned solely as a collector's item and for participation in club activities, exhibitions, tours, parades, and similar uses, including mechanical testing, but is not used for general transportation.

Michigan Exhaust Systems: Michigan legislators alerted SAN that they will no longer pursue, in its current form, legislation to ban vehicles equipped with replacement exhaust systems that differ from the design specifications of the original muffler. In its place, lawmakers are considering SAN model legislation that provides for the testing of vehicle exhaust noise to a standard adopted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) with an established noise limit of 95-decibels.
