The PPG Street Rodder Road Tour Car hits Springfield, MI during the Memorial Day Weekend
After a quick check over at Wade Hughes of Hot Rod Flames in Cincinnati, Ohio, the 2003 PPG/Street Rodder Road Tour roadster was ready to roll to its next appointed round: the NSRA Mid-America Nationals in Springfield, Missouri.
Chauffer Jerry Dixey made the trip under sunny blue skies across Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield. The roadster performed flawlessly and everyone at the event liked the look of this year's Road Tour ride.
Friday's weather in Springfield was perfect. Saturday afternoon brought some sprinkles but it did not keep the rods away. A new Mid-America record was set with 2,158 registered entrants. Sunday's awards program saw 25 vehicles receive special recognition. Watch for complete coverage of the event in the October issue of Street Rodder.
It was then time for the Road Tour to roll. Jerry has a week off at home in Ohio before the East Coast Nationals in York, Pennsylvania. Log back on here at www.streetrodderweb.com for all the Road Tour details....
