Road Tour 2005 -- Construction Begins

Two of the supports run from the chassis up to the front fenders.

A second set of supports runs from this panel behind the grille to the front crossmember.

With the adjustability available, the front-end gaps can be made even and consistent. Original Fords didn't fit this well.

Donaldson puts a great deal of effort into making the rear fenders fit as they should. The piece with the holes is part of the mold that shapes the lip.

Rather than a ragged, uneven edge that can be found on many fiberglass fenders, Donaldson's looks and feels like steel stockers.

In the same gelcoat as the body, these rear fenders are ready to bolt on.

Here, the outer skin for the trunk lid is removed from the mold. Like all the other parts, it's in maroon gelcoat. Even if the car is to be painted, it's advisable to match the gelcoat to the planned color.

Attention to detail is typical throughout the Donaldson body. Even the cast trunk lid hinges are stylish.

With minor sanding of the seams, touch-up to the gelcoat in a couple of places, and some polishing, this body is rod-run ready. We're going one step further with a custom PPG paint scheme.

While construction has just begun, it's obvious that this is going to be one of the best-looking Road Tour cars yet.
