The Triple Crown Challenge is back again for 2014. This year the Challenge is sponsored by and includes the first three Tours of the summer. We start in San Antonio on the Vintage Air Tour and travel to Pomona. It is then on to St. Paul with the MSRA Back to the Fifties Tour. From the Twin Cities we head back west on the Aeromotive Tour to the NSRA Rocky Mountain Nationals in Pueblo, Co. All of the drivers who complete these three Tours will receive a commemorative Triple Crown Challenge jacket for their ironman efforts.

The Vintage Air Tour
June 7-15
Vintage Air, San Antonio, Texas, to the 50th L.A. Roadsters Show, Pomona, California

Jack Chisenhall and Rick Love from Vintage Air lead the Tour to this Father’s Day classic. The Tour will begin on June 8, with a visit to the Alamo. Then it’s northwest to Pomona with a stop at Hill’s Hot Rods in Lubbock, and the Unser Racing Museum in Albuquerque, plus a beautiful drive from Flagstaff to Prescott, Arizona, and a visit to the shop of Jackie Howerton.

The MSRA Back to the 50’s Weekend Tour
June 13-22
The 50th L.A. Roadsters Show, Pomona, California, to Back to the 50s, St. Paul, Minnesota

Las Vegas will be our first night stop after leaving Pomona on Sunday, June 15. Our route will include overnight stops in Grand Junction, Colorado, Kearney, Nebraska and Brandon, South Dakota. Highlights include Speedway Motors in Lincoln, Nebraska, home of the Smith Collection Museum of American Speed, and Bowman’s Real Hot Rods and the auto collection of Larry Olson in Brandon, South Dakota.

The Aeromotive Tour
June 20-29
Back to the 50s, St. Paul, Minnesota, to the NSRA Rocky Mountain Nationals, Pueblo, Colorado

We head south after the car show on Sunday. The folks at Aeromotive are planning a big welcoming party for us at their Kansas City area facility on Monday evening. On Tuesday we will roll toward the Rockies with stops in Wichita and the “Old West “town of Dodge City , Kansas on our way to Pueblo.

The Eastwood Summer Classic Tour
July 18-26
The Syracuse Nationals, Syracuse New York, to the Eastwood Summer Classic, Pottstown, Pennsylvania

We will spend a day in the Massachusetts visiting shops on our way to the Eastwood Summer Classic car show. Highlights along the way include a number of shops in New York, plus Competition Specialties, Extreme Machine Unlimited, and Factory Five Racing, all in the Boston area.

The Tour
August 9-16
A Week on Woodward Avenue, near Detroit, Michigan

The Detroit area has many automotive shops and places of interest for us to visit leading up to the famous Woodward Dream Cruise. During the week we will be see the Henry Ford Museum, the Gilmore Museum, the Pratt and Miller facility, and more. We will also take part in the huge Back to the Bricks festivities in Flint.

The Shades of the Past Tour
August 30-September 6
The 60th NHRA U.S. Nationals, Indianapolis, Indiana, to Shades of the Past, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Indianapolis’ famous Labor Day drag race is the starting point for this Tour from Indy to the popular Shades of the Past Rod Run. On Friday of Labor Day weekend we will be special guests in Auburn, Indiana, where we will tour museums, auctions, and flea markets.

The Dynamat Tour
September 5-14
Shades of the Past, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, to the NSRA Nationals North Plus, Kalamazoo, Michigan

Some great private car collections and street rod shops in the Ohio area will highlight our ride to Kalamazoo. Before we get to Michigan, we will make stops in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Youngstown, Ohio, including a visit to Flaming River’s facility near Cleveland.

The Sherm’s Custom Plating Tour
October 31–November 8
Sherm’s Custom Plating, Sacramento, California, to the SEMA Show, Las Vegas, Nevada

We’re going back to SEMA! We’ll start in Sacramento and drive to Las Vegas for the huge SEMA Show. The fun begins with a stop at Sherm’s Custom Plating and Flowmaster’s huge manufacturing facilities. We’ll see Gene Winfield’s shop, some private collections, and a few other locations on the way to Vegas and the largest auto industry show on earth.
