On June 7, the 2014 AMSOIL/STREET RODDER Road Tour begins! Tour leader Jerry Dixey, the newly-finished '59 Impala Road Tour car, and a group of intrepid cross-country cruisers leave San Antonio bound for Southern California. And that's just the beginning! There are eight Tours in all, continuing from June to November and covering much of the United States.
Check the dates for the first three Road Tours and you'll see that they run non-stop. The 2014 Road Tour starts with the Triple Crown Challenge, sponsored by Roadtrippers.com. Some participants will join us for one or two of the trips. A few will hang in there for all of the first three Tours. Those drivers who complete the three-tour Triple Crown Challenge will earn a commemorative jacket.

The Vintage Air Tour

Hosted by our friends at Vintage Air in San Antonio, this first leg of the Roadtrippers.com Triple Crown Challenge starts in Texas and ends up in California at the famous Los Angeles Roadster Show at the Pomona Fairplex. Stops along the way include the Alamo, a visit to Hill's Hot Rods in Lubbock, a tour of the Unser Racing Museum and lunch at Mild to Wild in Albuquerque then a visit to racer/rodder Jackie Howerton's shop, not to mention the scenic stretch of road from Flagstaff to Prescott, Arizona—a pretty part of the American Southwest.
The MSRA Back to the 50's Weekend Tour

The second leg of the Roadtrippers.com Triple Crown Challenge begins at the incredible Los Angeles Roadsters Show on Father's Day weekend. From there it's across the desert to our first stop in Las Vegas. Then we'll cruise across the prairie on the way to Speedway Motors and the Smith Collection Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska, stopping to check out Bowman's Real Hot Rods, and Larry Olson's auto collection in Brandon, South Dakota. Our journey ends in St. Paul, where we'll attend the massive Back to the 50's car show..
The Aeromotive Tour
Back to the 50s, St. Paul, Minnesota, to the NSRA Rocky Mountain Nationals, Pueblo, Colorado
The Wild West is our route on this third Tour of the Roadtrippers.com Triple Crown Challenge. The plans include a party celebrating the Road Tour at the Aeromotive facility in Kansas City, cruising through Wichita, the historical western town of Dodge City, Kansas, and photogenic moments along the Rockies in Colorado. Bring a camera. This is going to be beautiful ride.
The Eastwood Summer Classic Tour
The Syracuse Nationals, Syracuse New York, to the Eastwood Summer Classic, Pottstown, Pennsylvania
This one begins at the huge Syracuse Nationals on July 18-20, where we will enjoy prime parking and a hospitality tent for all of the cool activities at the fairgrounds. Sunday afternoon: we head to Massachusetts. Monday: a morning visit to Mark Lewis' amazing automotive nostalgia collection, lunch at Competition Specialties and Extreme Machines Unlimited, and continuing on to Factory Five Racing. After our evening in New Bedford, Massachusetts, we'll travel to Newport, Rhode Island, to take a tour of an historic mansion. Tuesday: in the evening we will be the special guests at a party hosted by the Connecticut Street Rod Association in Wallingford. Wednesday: it's off to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, the Woodstock Museum, and overnight in Port Jervis, New York. Thursday: we head to Pottstown, Pennsylvania for the Thursday evening Sonic Cruise. Friday: we visit the AACA Museum in Hershey. Saturday: our week culminates at the third annual Eastwood Summer Classic as we are special guests for big car cruise, seeing all of the displays and demonstrations at Eastwood headquarters in Pottstown. The Autopalooza.org Tour
A Week on Woodward Avenue, near Detroit, Michigan
Look out Woodward, the Road Tour is coming! This will be a week you'll never forget as the Road Tour returns to the heart of American automotive manufacturing, collections, and cruising. We will kick off the week leading up to the Woodward Dream Cruise by visiting the Dearborn area. On Saturday we will take in the incredible Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Sunday, we travel through the Irish hills to The Gilmore Museum and then attend the famous Baker Cruise. The first half of the week will also include a tour of the Ken Lingenfelter Auto Collection, Pratt and Miller Restorations, and other attractions. We will also spend a day in Ypsilanti visiting Kalitta Motorsports race shop, and visit some of the auto and air museums in that city. On Wednesday, our focus will center on the areas near Woodward Avenue with a special private tour of the GM Heritage Center, an entire day at the Back to the Bricks Festival in Flint, and a tour of Dynatech Engineering. On Friday afternoon and Saturday we will experience VIP treatment with special parking and a hospitality tent for all of the Road Tour participants as we enjoy the amazing and historical Woodward Dream Cruise. The Shades of the Past Tour

The 60th NHRA U.S. Nationals, Indianapolis, Indiana, to Shades of the Past, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
The AMSOIL/Street Rodder Shades of the Past Road Tour from the NHRA US Nationals in Indianapolis to the Shades event in Pigeon Forge is going to be a fun-filled and exciting week on the highway.
On Friday we will be special guests in nearby Auburn, Indiana and we will enjoy free passes and special parking to the famous Auburn Labor Day auction and swap meet. After our day in Auburn we will head to our hotel for the weekend in Indianapolis. Saturday, Sunday and Monday we take in all the sights and sounds of the 60th U.S. Nationals. We will have special parking and a hospitality tent at the strip.
Tuesday morning we will visit the shop of Route 32 Restorations and see their gas pump and sign collection. Tuesday afternoon we will visit AFCO Racing Parts and tour their manufacturing facility. Wednesday we will head south, visit the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky and then travel on to Nashville. In Nashville we will visit the American Picker's antique shop, the Lane Auto Museum and then spend the evening near the Opryland Resort. Thursday we head to Pigeon Forge for the Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup held at Dollywood Splash Park on Friday and Saturday. We will have special parking and a hospitality tent at the event. It is going to be a great week on the Shades Road Tour.
The Dynamat Tour

The Dynamat Road Tour is going to be great as we travel for the Shades of the Past Hot Rod Round-up in Pigeon Forge, Tn. to the NSRA Nationals North Plus in Kalamazoo, Mi.
Sunday morning we will head to Cincinnati to visit the American Sign Museum, the headquarters of Roadtrippers.com and then take part in the Sunday evening cruise at the Quaker Steak and Lube in nearby Colerain. Monday morning we are going to tour the Soffseal facilities in Harrison, Ohio. Monday afternoon we will cruise through Amish country as we travel to Youngstown, Ohio. On Tuesday in Youngstown we will visit my home, Classic Automobilia, and three amazing private auto collections that include over 200 vehicles. Tuesday evening we will be special guests at a local cruise-in.
Wednesday morning we will visit the Packard Museum in Warren, Ohio. We will also stop and see Fred Warren's collection of rods that includes the Smoothster, the Ridler winning Aero Coupe and Shock Wave which won the 50th Grand National Roadster Show. For lunch we will be guests at Precision Hot Rods in Macedonia. In the afternoon we will tour Flaming River's facility in Berea. Thursday we will head to Kalamazoo and stop at the fabulous Gilmore Museum along the way. We will be in Kalamazoo in time to pick up our credentials for the Nationals North. We will have a hospitality tent at the fairgrounds all weekend.
The Sherm's Custom Plating Tour

The final Road Tour of 2014 leaves Sacramento and follows the bright lights to Las Vegas, home of the SEMA Show auto industry event. On the way, we'll visit Sherm's Custom Plating in Sacramento, Flowmaster, the new Circle Racing Wheel facility, and John Lawson's incredible private collection of cars.
